In a statement on its website, WiC announced it had ceased trading as of yesterday (15th August), putting the closure down to the company suffering a difficult trading year due to a challenging economic climate for the construction and charitable sectors.
It went on to say that after working to find solutions to these issues, it was concluded that the business was no longer viable.

Kath Moore MBE, managing director at WiC, said: “We know that there is still much to be done to transform diversity in the construction industry, but we are proud of all that we have achieved over the past 16 years.
“Over 4,700 women have had in depth support, 3000 completed industry training, 1,300 completed work placements and this led [to] an amazing 1,300 women gaining employment.”
CBW Recovery has been appointed as creditors to oversee the firm’s closure.
