Assetz unveils sub-10% refurb and regen financing



Assetz Capital has launched new products, all under 10% per annum, for refurbishment and regeneration development finance needs.


The lender has designed these products to support the residential refurbishment market as well as property developers involved in town regeneration schemes.

Under the new pricing, development exit loans for residential schemes will be available from 9.5% per annum while residential refurbishment loans are priced from 9.75% per annum.

Planning assistance loans, for developers to progress conversion of commercial property to residential units, are available from 9.5% per annum.

Commenting on these new products, Andrew Fraser, chief commercial officer at Assetz Capital (pictured above), said the firm saw opportunity from urban regeneration projects and the government’s ‘get Britain building again strategy’.

Here, he estimated there are 165,000 privately-owned commercial and business premises currently empty across the UK with an additional 7,0000 commercial and business premises owned by local authorities that have been vacant for over a year.

“We passionately believe that many urban areas in decline, with empty offices and high streets, could have new life breathed into them through the conversion of empty and decaying spaces,” said Andrew. “It’s an area we specialise in and have already helped many property developers in this sector.”
