Former London 2012 director appointed to Oxford Growth Commission

The government has appointed Neale Coleman, who helped lead the London 2012 Olympic bid, as chair of the Oxford Growth Commission.

Neale was a board member of the bid company, London 2012 and co-chaired the Olympic Delivery Group.

He is currently deputy chair of the London Legacy Development Corporation.

His appointment to the commission has been confirmed by minister for housing and planning Matthew Pennycook.

The role begins with immediate effect for an initial period of 18 months.

“The Oxford Growth Commission (OGC) will form part of our plans to deliver the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor and support the wider UK economy,” wrote Pennycook.

“Your work as Chair will aid our ambitions set out in the Plan for Change to build 1.5 million homes and new critical infrastructure, which will in turn create jobs, boost living standards, and put more money into working people’s pockets.”
