Amicus lends £9m for redevelopment of historic Manchester building

Amicus Property Finance has supported the redevelopment of the former Freemason’s Hall in Manchester after providing just over £9m of funding.

The specialist lender provided the funding at a loan-to-gross development value of 55% to allow the scheme to progress to the next level of its refurbishment.

Once completed, the Grade II-listed Manchester Hall will provide space for a number of restaurants on its ground floor, along with a five-star conference and events centre on its first and second floor.

The Manchester Hall development will feature roof terrace bars with a 360-degree panorama of the Manchester city centre skyline.

The building will also include six boutique bedrooms and another yet-to-be-announced feature.

The property is located in the heart of Manchester city centre and received a gold medal certification from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for its design in 1930.

“Manchester Hall has always had a significant place in Manchester’s history, so to be part of a project that will breathe new life into such an iconic city centre building is a special project for the Manchester Amicus Property Finance office to be involved in,” said Yasin Patel, regional director at Amicus Property Finance.

“We are looking forward to seeing the end result and helping Stephen and his team realise their vision for this landmark development.”

Stephen Cliff, the owner of Manchester Hall, added: “Yasin Patel and the team at Amicus Property Finance in Manchester understood the complexities of this high-profile refurbishment and tailored the financing we need to complete the final phase of the project.”

“We are very excited for the final unveil of Manchester Hall which is expected to be before the summer of next year.”
