Willmott Dixon Interiors to deliver office-to-hotel conversion

Willmott Dixon Interiors has been instructed to convert an office in Welwyn Garden City into a 79-bed Travelodge hotel as a part of £5m project.

The proposed Travelodge is located near to the Howard Shopping Centre and the mainline train station in the town centre.

Architects Ratcliffe Groves Partnership and project manager Rougemont Property Consultants will also work on the development, which is expected to be completed by July 2018.

Graham Shaw, managing director at Willmott Dixon Interiors, said: “We know the Travelodge brand well and our team of hotel specialists will make sure this new hotel in Welwyn Garden City is a fine addition to the brand’s portfolio across the UK.

“Working in this area involves specialist knowledge, programming skills and a good supply chain, that’s why so many companies are utilising our skills for their hotel work.”

Willmott Dixon Interiors has over 1,000 rooms in progress or completed in the hotel sector since mid-2016.

It has completed over 35,000 Travelodge rooms during their on-going nine-year relationship and recently agreed a £4m contract for the Farringdon Travelodge.

The developer has also completed several new-build projects, including a 154-bed village hotel in Portsmouth, the Dorsett City Hotel in London, a new Premier Inn hotel in Beverley, Novotel in Brentford and Holiday Inn on Commercial Road in east London.
