Iron Bridge appoints new head of underwriting

Iron Bridge Finance has appointed Gareth Ward (pictured above) as its new head of underwriting.

Gareth joins the property development lender after previously holding senior roles at specialist lenders including Kensington, Investec Bank, Castle Trust and most recently Amicus.

At Iron Bridge, Gareth will report to Simon Pollins, chief financial officer, and will be responsible for underwriting new enquiries through to completion, as well as overseeing the portfolio management function.

“Gareth brings to Iron Bridge both a wealth of experience and a reputation for applying common sense to the credit process,” said Simon.

“His skill set will complement our strong and experienced team.

“We are delighted he has decided to join us at this time of growth and expansion for the business.”

Iron Bridge invests its own funds to provide mezzanine and top-up finance on residential and mixed-use development projects.

The lender provides loan amounts ranging from £300,000-7m in areas of high demand across England and Wales.

Gareth felt that this was an exciting time to join Iron Bridge.

“They have built an impressive proposition in what is a very interesting market.

“The demand for mezzanine finance is greater than ever and I’m looking forward to working with the team.”
