Planning secured for 3,800-home scheme in West Ham

Savills London Planning Team has secured planning permission for a 3,800-home scheme in east London for developer Berkeley Group.

Planning permission includes authorisation for the redevelopment of Stephenson Street, the former Parcelforce depot in West Ham.

The scheme is set to be completed in four phases over the next 10 to 15 years and will include commercial and retail space, a new 1,000-pupil secondary school, two new parks, PRS homes and four buildings over 30 storeys.

The first phase of the development will deliver 1,000 of the new homes as well as a new entrance into West Ham tube station, two new pedestrian bridges, the first phase of the park and a new neighbourhood centre.

Berkeley was selected as the preferred development partner for the site by the GLA in 2015.
