CALA Homes appointed for golf club regeneration

The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead has selected CALA Homes as its preferred joint venture partner for the regeneration of Maidenhead Golf Club.

The site is set to deliver over 2,000 homes, including 30% affordable housing, a new primary and secondary school, as well as public open space, community hub and supporting infrastructure.

The council approved plans for the regeneration of part of the 132-acre golf course in November last year.

CALA Homes was selected from a final shortlist of three developers and in the next few months, a development agreement between them and the council will be entered into, setting out the next stages of the project.

“We are delighted that we have selected a development partner [which] can bring a high-quality transformational development, delivering on the town’s aspiration and need for growth,” said Cllr David Evans, cabinet member for Maidenhead regeneration.

“We look forward to creating a sustainable development that can be enjoyed by both new and existing residents.”

Stuart Wallace, regional managing director at CALA Homes, added: “We are delighted to have been selected as preferred partner for this unique opportunity to deliver our team’s vision for the Maidenhead Golf Course site.

“Working in partnership with the Royal Borough we look forward to creating a vibrant and sustainable legacy that meets with the council’s original objectives for the site.”
