Homes England adds four new members to its board



Homes England has appointed four new members to its board.

The government’s housing accelerator has increased its gender diversity with the additions and taken its number of non-executive members from six to 10. 

The new members are:

  • Mark Rennison, finance director at Nationwide Building Society
  • Olivia Scanlon, chief operating officer at Orchard Global Asset Management
  • Sadie Morgan, founding director at architectural practice dRMM
  • Vanessa Murden, chief operating officer at Lloyds Banking Group’s retail division
     

Mark chairs the subsidiary company at Nationwide which is managing the development of a new housing community in Swindon.

He said: “I am delighted to join the Homes England board and look forward to helping to deliver a sustainable strategy for the creation of more high quality affordable housing across the country.”

Olivia has almost 20 years of experience in financial services and investment, as well as real estate development finance.

She added: “Homes England has an incredibly forward looking, innovative approach to addressing the country’s affordable housing shortage and I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to be involved.”

With a career spanning more than 25 years, Sadie is also a commissioner and the design group chair at the National Infrastructure Commission and is the Mayor of London’s design advocate.

Sadie claimed that, as part of the board’s agenda to build more sustainable and high quality houses, her energy would be focused on delivering homes for people and places. 

“I understand how vital the role of Homes England is to help house our nation, and I am committed to ensuring we do so and to deliver a quality of life everyone deserves.”

Meanwhile, Vanessa has senior executive expertise within the financial services industry, having served at Travelex and Western Union, prior to her appointment at Lloyds.

Vanessa added that she was looking forward to working with the team to “grow access to affordable housing.”
