Hammerson appoints new NED

Hammerson has appointed Méka Brunel (pictured above) as a non-executive director with effect from 1st December 2019.

Méka — who will also become a member of the investment and disposal and nomination committees — has undertaken various roles in the real estate industry and delivered major residential and office development sites, in addition to managing office portfolios.

She is currently the chief executive at Paris-based real estate investment trust Gecina, which owns a circa €19.9bn (approximately £17.2bn) portfolio of French office and residential assets.

Her other experiences include being appointed to chair the Métropole du Grand Paris in October 2017, serving as a non-executive director at Credit Foncier de France, chair at France Green Building Council and vice-chairperson at EPRA.

David Tyler, chair of the board at Hammerson, said: "Méka has exceptional experience in the European real estate sector and we look forward very much to welcoming her to our board.

“With close to half of our property portfolio outside of the UK, we are pleased to strengthen our European expertise.”
