Vistry partners with Ilke Homes for major regeneration project in Bristol

Ilke Homes has teamed up with Vistry Partnerships to deliver 32 homes on the former Blackberry Hill Hospital site in Bristol.

The modular housing company will be supplying the homes directly to Vistry as part of the latter’s wider regeneration project of the 21-acre site, which will include 346 homes, in addition to retail and start-up business units, a community building, and extensive green spaces.

Vistry chose modern methods of construction (MMC) for part of the housing development because of the energy-efficiency benefits and speed that offsite manufacturing can deliver.

The homes will be manufactured at Ilke Homes’ factory in North Yorkshire before being completed onsite in December.

Ilke Homes recently opened new regional offices in Bristol, Birmingham and London.

Matthew Bench, executive director of partnerships at Ilke Homes, said: “Offsite manufacturing has a key role to play to kickstart the economy and to quickly build the high-quality, energy-efficient homes that are needed across the country.

“Working with Vistry Partnerships demonstrates the confidence that leading developers have in the quality of our homes and the speed at which we can deliver them.”

Craig Currie, managing director at Vistry Partnerships West, added: “This project really is about true partnership and regeneration, working with a range of partners and using our expertise to transform these redundant buildings into a fantastic new community.

“We’re really pleased to be working with ilke Homes, using innovative modern methods of construction to accelerate the delivery of the new homes, meaning we can bring forward affordable homes for local people faster.”
