Hill and Marshall set to deliver second phase of £550m Cambridge development

A joint venture partnership between Hill Group and Marshall Group Properties has announced it will deliver the second phase of the Marleigh development near Cambridge city centre.

The second phase has outline planning and a reserved matters planning application for 417 homes, which will be submitted later this year, where work is anticipated to start on site in mid-2021.

The Marleigh development will comprise approximately 1,300 homes, with a GDV of £550m.

Once complete, Marleigh will boast community facilities, including a market square, a two-form entry primary school, and a community centre.

It will also offer green spaces, public parks, woodland walks, and allotment gardens, as well as cycle and walking routes, public art, outdoor spaces, and sports pitches for residents.

The announcement marks the continuation of the partnership between Hill and Marshall (Hill Marshall LLP), which is currently delivering 547 homes.

Andy Hill, chief executive at Hill Group, said: “We are delighted to continue our successful partnership with the Marshall Group to deliver the next instalment of this innovative new neighbourhood.

“As two family-run Cambridge companies, we share the same vision and commitment to building inspiring and sustainable communities, which will stand the test of time.

“Marleigh marks the first step in the creation of a new landmark district which will transform east Cambridge, and we are proud to play a part in that legacy.”

Richard Howe, managing director at Marshall Group Properties, added: “We are pleased to be extending our partnership with Hill Group to deliver this important second phase of Marleigh.

“The first phase is already well underway, and we are excited that the first residents of Marleigh will soon move into their new homes.”
