Hayfield boosts finance department as it looks to double annual turnover

Housebuilder Hayfield has expanded its finance department with four new recruits as it looks to double annual turnover to £100m this year.

The company has appointed Amanda James as a management accountant, Bonnie Cooke as an accounts supervisor, Lauren Williams as an accounts payable assistant, and Hayley McGorie as an accounts assistant.

Amanda joined from the funeral care division of Midcounties Co-operative, where she was responsible for the production of all financial reporting, including day-to-day operational support and monthly management accounts, as well as annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and strategic planning.

Prior to this, Amanda — who is in the final stages of becoming an ACCA-qualified certified chartered accountant — held roles at various companies, including TNS Catering and ABM Catering Ltd.

Bonnie and Lauren both joined Hayfield from Imtech Inviron Ltd.

Before that, Bonnie spent seven years working as an accounts manager for CloserStill Media, while Lauren was a finance assistant for Aaron & Partners LLP and a finance administrator for Spectrum Payment Services Ltd.

Hayley — who recently commenced a Level 3 Diploma with the Association of Accounting Technicians — previously worked at Wattrus Group Ltd, where she was a finance assistant.

Throughout her career, she has held positions at Infrasys Ltd and Cudd Bentley Consulting.

Commenting on her appointment, Amanda said: “I am thrilled to be working in-house for a SME firm that is growing at such a formidable pace.

“Working at Hayfield gives me the opportunity to interact with each of the various divisions of the business and build up a thorough understanding of the full delivery process from a financial resource and budgeting perspective.

“With the four of us joining the team at a very similar time, we hope to make a substantial impact to the smooth running of the finance function.”

The four recruits will be based at the firm’s head office in Solihull.

This follows significant growth fuelled by £85m of equity and debt funding provided by OakNorth Bank and a Dubai-based family office private investor, which has enabled the five-year-old housebuilder to acquire a significant land bank.

Hayfield has live sites in Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Wiltshire and Buckinghamshire, where eco-friendly executive family homes are being constructed in prime semi-rural and edge-of-town settings.
