Football club submits plans for housing development

QPR Holdings Ltd and Genesis Housing Association have submitted plans for a £175m regeneration scheme in west London.

The scheme will see 600 new homes – including affordable homes – built at the top of Old Oak Common Lane, which will be part of the wider Old Oak Common regeneration area.

Queens Park Rangers Football Club (QPR) also want to use the area to build a new football stadium. The football club has acquired strategic land interests throughout the Old Oak regeneration area as it makes plans to move away from its current Loftus Road ground.

The development will see the creation of 200 affordable homes consisting of shared ownership, affordable rent and social rent homes.

Over 3,000 sq m of office and commercial space will be provided for small and local businesses with 100 jobs expected to be created as a result.

QPR and Genesis are also being supported by Stadium Capital Developments who delivered the Emirates Stadium regeneration for Arsenal Football Club, which included 3,500 new homes.

If approved the work could start as early as autumn 2016 and would be expected to take three years to fully complete.
