Avamore announces senior promotions

Avamore Capital has promoted Chris Newman (pictured above, right) to head of underwriting — taking over executive director Philip Gould’s previous role — and Adam Butler (left) to head of sales.

Both Chris and Adam joined the company in early 2020 as senior underwriter and senior relationship manager, respectively.

Since then, the two have played a significant part in the lender’s growth.

The promotions come after several structural changes at Avamore, which are part of its next evolution phase.

In late 2021, it was announced that the firm would be led by a new executive leadership team made up of Philip and managing directors D’mitri Zaprzala and Alan Margolis.

Commenting on his promotion, Chris said: “I have been on an incredible journey at Avamore.

“The firm has always encouraged me to stretch my boundaries and given me the space to grow as an underwriter and a manager.

I am genuinely excited that Phil is passing the baton onto me, and I look forward to seeing where I can take the department.”

Adam added: “I am extremely proud to be able to step into the head of sales role.

“The team has collectively tackled a number of challenges since I arrived at Avamore and I have always taken great satisfaction in us all succeeding.

“Like most salespeople, we are at the front of the customer experience; I am looking forward to building on the brand and image we have already created and will work closely with the team to ensure that we will always be a customer focused lender first and foremost.”

D’mitri commented: “We are delighted to be sharing these promotions publicly.

“Chris and Adam have been integral parts of the business and we are glad that we’ve been able to formally recognise their work.

“Adam is not only a successful salesperson, but his style means that he is always looking to develop the people around him to be the best they possibly can be.

“He has been a leader in all but name and so, it is excellent that we are able to give him the head of sales position.

“Likewise, Chris has been a role model for the whole team in terms of the quality and consistency of work.

“He holds himself to an incredibly high standard and that sentiment has naturally spread across the team; he will no doubt continue to build on the infrastructure we have in place and shape an efficient, diligent and customer focused underwriting department.”
